Two very different women, Mary Fisher, a famous author who is rich, beautiful and thin, and Ruth Patchett, a housewife who is middle class and overweight, think they have nothing in common. That is, until Mary begins a torrid affair with Ruth's husband. Thus begin the hilarious trials and tribulations of Ruth's quest to teach her husband a few valuable lessons.
