We have enabled 2 new yearly plans for Silver and Gold accounts after receiving some great feedback from our users. New users now have the option of signing up on a monthly or yearly plan. Channel Ten's new channel Eleven has been enabled on the myTVR platform. Eleven started at 11am on the 11th of January, 2011. Channel Eleven will air shows like Futurama, The Cleveland Show, Stargate, Dexter and 90210.
The myTVR development team are proud to announce the release of Record and Play Now for the iPhone. Record and Play Now allows users to schedule a recording of a TV show that is currently playing. As soon as the TV show starts recording users are able to play the stream immediately. Recordings are then stored within the users myTVR storage space for immediate or future playback.
Channel Nine and Channel Seven have launched their new channels over the weekend. Seven's 7MATE is described as 'bloke friendly' with TV shows such as American Dad, Punk'd and Fifth Gear. Nine's GEM is a aimed at women over 35 with programs like Weeds, Cold Case, McLeod's Daughters and Friends being available. Both new channels are enabled on myTVR.
Our development team have completed a major web backend upgrade to the myTVR platform which includes our Web and Database Frameworks. These components that were upgraded provide the architecture, APIs and tools our development team use to build and deliver new features.
We've just bumped our Silver Account up to 2.0 GB's of Virtual Disk space. All existing Silver Account users will be automatically upgraded to the new quota. Check out our Plans page for more of the features our plans have to offer.
Our 'Invite A Friend' feature has now been enabled allowing myTVR users to spread the myTVR word and get rewarded for it! Send a friend a invite from the 'Invite A Friend' section in 'My Account' and receive 14 additional free days access to your myTVR account if they sign up on a Silver of Gold Account.
One of the most requested feature from our users was the ability to record an entire TV program series in a single click. We have listened and have delivered. 'Record Everytime' is a brand new myTVR feature providing our users with the ability to record an entire TV program series in one easy click. 'Record Everytime' is now available to all users on silver and gold plans.
Due to increased demand myTVR will be reducing its free trial from 3 months to 14 days. Also daily schedule quotas have changed for all plans. Users will now be able to schedule per day as much as their plan's entire recording quota. For example all users on the gold plan will be able to schedule up to 12 hours of TV programs per day.
The myTVR team is pleased to announce that the myTVR mobile site now supports Blackberry mobile devices. This gives myTVR users even more choice on which device they wish to schedule and playback TV programs. The myTVR mobile site which also supports Android, iPhone, iPod and Nokia devices is live and available at mytvr.com.au/mobile
The most requested new feature from our users is the ability to 'overrecord' TV programs. We've listened and have been busy developing this new feature into the myTVR system. Our team is extremely proud to announce that as of today all myTVR users on the Silver and Gold plans will have the overrecord feature enabled by default which will provide 15 minutes 'overrecording' on every TV show. ABC's new ABC3 digital TV channel has just started broadcasting with content aimed towards young people of Australia. TV programs on ABC3 are commercial free, aimed towards an Australian audience and include a wide range of drama, adventure, music and current affairs programs. ABC3 is now live on myTVR and available for our users viewing pleasure!
myTVR has enabled the new digital channel from the Seven Network, 7TWO. Broadcasting on 7TWO starts at 12pm on the 1st of November bringing the total number of channels myTVR supports to nine. TV programs such as 24, Heroes, The Sopranos and Lost will be available on 7TWO.
The myTVR team have successfully completed significant infrastructure upgrades providing the ability to offer all 8 free to air channels. The upgrades also included stability fixes as well as software patches. myTVR undertook the upgrades during our beta phase to ensure our public release was still on track and offered as many features as possible.
We are proud to announce a new version of our Nokia interface. The Nokia myTVR interface uses the latest webkit features to provide TV guide browsing and program viewing. Just like the iPhone interface, the Nokia interface is available with all features to beta trial users and open to the general public for TV guide viewing only. myTVR has enabled GO!, the new channel from Nine. This is available immediately to our beta trial users and will be available as part of the myTVR public release.
TV shows such as Drop Dead Diva, Fringe, Gossip Girl, Seinfeld, Weeds and The Vampire Diaries are available on GO!
myTVR has officially released into private beta with signup information going out today to users who signed up as part of the trial. myTVR expects a public release shortly after the beta phase has been completed.
The myTVR team have developed a way to watch live TV on the iPhone by using bleeding edge technology found in the latest version of the iPhone turning your iPhone into a real-time TV. This feature will be released within upcoming private trials and the public release.
