What is myTVR?

myTVR is a remote based PVR (personal video recorder) that includes a TV Guide, hard disk storage space and a media player. Think of myTVR as a virtual PVR allowing you to record TV programs available through the TV guide and store them for personal viewing as they are recording or at a more convenient time. You can access the TV guide to record and playback on PC, Mac, iPhone, iPod touch V2 and media enabled Nokia mobile phones. We do expect to support other handsets at a later date. Please check our FAQ on data usage before you start using myTVR.

What is 'Record and Play Now' for iPhone?

'Record and Play Now' is a new feature that allows you to select a current channel to record with your playback starting within seconds. Your 'Record and Play Now' recordings will not add to your storage quota as the recording is deleted once you click "Done". You can still use the program guide to schedule recordings and series for the shows you don't want to miss.

The TV Guide

The TV Guide lists the different channels and programs that are available for recording. Programs highlighted in yellow are programs you have scheduled for recording. Programs highlighted in green are shows currently being recorded and programs in white are shows available to record. Shows can be viewed from the time recording commences. You must be signed in to schedule a recording though you do not have to be signed in to view the TV Guide

Access to Free to Air TV programming will be restricted to Melbourne Metro with Sydney to follow until demand warrants expansion to other areas. You can record all channels simultaneously.

Users on Silver and Gold plans will have access to 'Overrecord' and 'Record Everytime' features. 'Overrecord' will automatically record up to 15 minutes extra on every TV program recorded. 'Record Everytime' allows users to record an entire TV program series with one easy click.

The media player controls allow you to pause the program, control volume and expand to full screen mode. Press "Esc" on your keyboard to reduce window size whilst in full screen mode. The slider bar allows you to time shift similar to a hard disk recorder. The slider bar is not available to Live TV shows though we are working on adding this feature in the future.
